FGCU coach slips and reveals personal news to national media during game

Sunday was likely the biggest win of FGCU’s season. The Eagles blew out UMBC 65-53 in what was billed nationally as the Cinderella Showdown, it was also the first time FGCU won back to back games all season long.

When first-year head coach, Michael Fly, returned to the locker room and checked his phone he had dozens of congratulations texts, many adding, “Your life is about to change forever.”

“I thought, ‘UMBC is really good but I’m not used to getting that after a win,'” Fly said.
