
A fast-moving brush fire that started Friday in west Broward County is only 50 percent contained and had burned about 2,300 acres as of Sunday, a state forestry official said.
“It has been running parallel to I-75,” said Scott Peterich, wildfire mitigation specialist for the Florida Forest Service. “It’s such a big fire. It’s still burning. And it will probably burn the next couple days unless we get some rain.”
