Traffic stop reveals over a kilo of cocaine in arrest

Lee Herald Favicon 16Cash, marijuana, and a large amount of cocaine were sized as a result of traffic stop in Fort Myers on Thursday.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Edgar Vazquez, 33, of Fort Myers on Thursday. LCSO said that Vazquez was found to be in possession of 520 grams of powdered cocaine during the stop.

After obtaining a search warrant for Vazquez’ home located at 2770 Via Piazza Loop, reports say that deputies found an additional 717.3 grams of cocaine, 32.5 grams of marijuana, $1,000 cash, and a .45 caliber Colt 1911.

Vazquez was booked at Lee County Jail on charges of trafficking cocaine and possessing marijuana. He has been released on bond and is due to appear in court on October 15th.
