Three Cheers: Things to do this weekend in SWFL

The Fourth Annual Public Safety Shootout, which pits two teams of law enforcement against each other will take place on Saturday at the Fort Myers Skatium. The Lee County Rangers and the Fort Myers Blue Thunder face off in an event to benefit Heroes Unmasked, which benefits children with illnesses. Admission is $10, with children 10 and under for free, and features a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and meet and greet with superheroes. Ft. Myers Skatium, 2250 Broadway, Ft. Myers.

Comedian Jon Reep will be performing at Off the Hook Comedy Club in Naples with shows Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Reep was the winner of season five of Last Comic Standing and has had a stand-up specials on Comedy Central including on Premium Blend, but is best known for his role in Dodge truck commercials asking “That thing got a Hemi?” Tickets start at $22. 2500 Vanderbilt Beach Road, Suite 1100, Naples.

A series of rallies protesting the state of the water in the Caloosahatchee River and Gulf of Mexico called Hands Along the Water will be running around the state on Sunday. At 10 a.m., volunteers plan to stand along the water and hold hands for 15 minutes. There are rallies planned in Sanibel, Cape Coral, Fort Myers Beach, Bonita Beach, two in Naples, and Marco Island. As school returns and summer vacation ends, Collier County is saying farewell to summer with a summer sunset luau on Friday at Golden Gate Community Park. Includes food, games, and swimming. Admission is $5, or $10 to include a food and drink ticket. Runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. 3300 Santa Barbara Boulevard, Golden Gate.

On Sunday, Stu’s Motorcycles is hosting a 50 mile bike ride on Sunday in honor of fallen Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller. The ride will be escorted by multiple law enforcement agencies, and is open to all riders. Donations of $20 per bike are required, and all funds will go to the Jobbers-Miller family. Riders are asked to meet at 8 a.m. and kickstands will go up at 9. The ride will end at FMPD headquarters. Stu’s Motorcycles, 14607 Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers.
