Deputies are asking for the public’s help in identifying the body of a dead man found floating in the water near Fort Myers Beach on Sunday.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a dead body floating in the water near Matanzas Pass on Sunday morning.
After and investigation, detectives said that the death did not appear to be suspicious, but efforts to identify the body have been unsuccessful and details are being released to the public in hopes that someone will recognize the man.
He is described as a white male, about 50-years old, weighing approximately 265 pounds and 5’5” in height. He had brown or hazel eyes and was wearing swim trunks and Nike sneakers pictured below. The LCSO has also included a sketch of the man.
