Elderly man killed in Ft. Myers hit and run

Lee Herald Favicon 16A 72-year old man was hit and killed by two cars who both allegedly fled the scene on Tuesday night in Fort Myers.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, officers responded to the scene of a fatal hit in run in front of 2250 Fowler Street on Tuesday night. They discovered the body of 72-year old Gary George Knafla in the middle of the scene.

Witnesses told officers that the man had been hit by two different vehicles, neither of which stopped after the accident. One of the vehicles was described as a dark-colored truck while the other was dark-colored sedan. The case is still active and under investigation.
