Reward offered in shooting death of Naples businessman

Lee Herald Favicon 16The reward for information in a Collier County homicide has been increased as investigators search for a suspect in the case of an 82 year-old businessman found shot to death in North Naples in April.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Karl George Lievense, 82, was found dead shot to death at his place of work, The Integrated Companies, located at 5129 Castello Drive in North Naples on April 9.

Reports state that Lievense was a business broker with a variety of investment projects including two mobile home parks in Michigan, energy-based enterprises in Texas, and a proposed movie to be filmed in Collier County.

Detectives believe that because the crime was committed in the middle of the day in a commercial area, it is likely that someone has the information they would need to make an arrest.

“Even if someone thinks the information they have is not significant, we want to talk to them,” said CCSO Homicide Section Detective Thom Cullen.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers and the Florida Sheriffs Association have partnered to offer an $8,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300, or to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
