Cape Coral man gets three life sentences for sexual battery of child

Lee Herald Favicon 16A Cape Coral man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after receiving multiple life sentences for charges including sexual battery of a child.

A jury convicted Blaine Edward Williams, 57, of Cape Coral of sexually abusing, molesting, and raping a female victim repeatedly between 2007 and 2013 in Lee County. The State Attorney’s Office argued the abuse began when the victim was around six years of age and continued until she was 12. She reported the abuse to a school guidance counselor in 2016 who in turn reported it to Lee County Sheriff’s deputies.

After a three day trial, Williams was given three life sentences for two counts of sexual battery on a child less than 12 years of age and one count of lewd or lascivious molestation. He was also sentenced to 15 years for one count of lewd or lascivious battery. The child molester received the maximum sentence for all counts and those sentences will all be served concurrently.

The female victim, who testified in the case, was present during the sentencing.
