FMPD seeking shoplifter who wore the goods right out the door

Lee Herald Favicon 16The Fort Myers Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying an alleged shoplifter who made off with merchandise from an area KOHL’s Department store over the weekend.

According to release by FMPD, officers responded to a call about a theft that took place at the Kohl’s located at 9357 Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway in Fort Myers. A supervisor from the store said that a surveillance camera had caught a male picking out a variety of shirts, cargo shorts, and socks before entering the fitting room.

When the man emerged, he had nothing in his hands but appeared to be bulked up with the merchandise on his person. Staff checked the fitting room but found it empty. The suspect walked out of the store without attempting to pay for any of the items, jumped into a smoke grey Toyota Corolla and sped off.

Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to call FMPD Detective Jose Gomez at (239) 321-8018 or remain anonymous through tip411 on the FMPD website at www.fmpolice.com or send a text to 847411 and include the keyword FMPD.

Tipsters can also remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000 by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), or online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com and by submitting information on the P3Tips mobile app.
