Two arrested by FMPD in a sting; one on child pornography charges

Lee Herald Favicon 16A multi-agency investigation lead to the arrest of two foreign nationals on child pornography and drug charges in Fort Myers on Monday.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, FMPD officers working with Homeland Security and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, executed a search warrant for a residence located at 4443 Ballard Road on Monday. The search lead to the arrest of Ovidio Xec Pable, 26, of Guatemala for five counts of possession of materials depicting the sexual performance of a child and two counts of transmission of materials depicting the sexual performance of a child.

As part of the same operation, Francisco Mejia Hernandez, 20, of Guatemala was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana under twenty grams.

Other subjects who were inside the residence during the bust were and charged with illegal immigration and placed into administrative processing pending deportation by Homeland Security.
