Drug overdose death leads to narcotics arrest

Lee Herald Favicon 16The investigation of an overdose death in January led to the recovery of drugs and weapons along with the arrest of four suspect during a search by deputies Wednesday in North Fort Myers.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the drug bust was the culmination of a two-month investigation into a home at 8240 Everhart in North Fort Myers. After an overdose death was tied to the residence in January, the LCSO receiving multiple complaints and Crime Stoppers tips about drugs being sold at the address.

Several undercover buys took place at the residence before the narcotics unit was able to obtain a warrant and search the premises. On March 7th, deputies executed the search warrant and recovered 16.38 grams of crack cocaine, 21.77 grams of heroin, 14.09 grams of methamphetamine, and 0.65 grams of marijuana, as well as two firearms and ammunition.

Four suspects were charged with the following:

Alexandra Berman, 25, possession of heroin

Tasha Wyant, 34, possession of marijuana under 20 grams

Christopher Gloster, 54, possession of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine

Joseph Mayes, 41, sale and possession of heroin
