Fort Myers student arrested for bringing gun to school

Lee Herald Favicon 1610th-grade student Jarvis Coleman, 16, may be facing charges after reportedly bringing a gun onto the campus of Fort Myers High School.

In an email sent to parents about the incident, Principle David LaRosa said that the gun was never openly displayed, but was discovered during an administrative search in another matter. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was notified and has taken the student into custody.

Coleman will face consequences both legally and through the school district’s code of conduct.

LCSO said that more information will be made available later today.
