Stranger Danger case in Lehigh a misunderstanding, deputies say

Lee Herald Favicon 16Concern over an adult potentially trying to lure a child into their vehicle in Lehigh Acres has been called a misunderstanding by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, LCSO posted a bulletin about a vehicle in Lehigh Acres involved in a potential stranger danger incident.

On Sunday, deputies found the vehicle in question and declared there was no criminal intent involved.

According to deputies, the driver of the car had been on his way to pick up his grandchildren from the nearby bus stop when the driver saw a child near the end of the street. During a traffic stop conducted this weekend, the man told deputies he was telling the child to play closer to her home, worried that she may be hit by a car.
The case has been closed.
