Police: Clerk punched out in convenience store robbery

Lee Herald Favicon 16Police are on the lookout for a trio who robbed an Estero convenience store and knocked out the clerk in the process, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said.

According to Crime Stoppers, three people, two black men and a Hispanic female, walked into the 7-Eleven at the corner of Three Oaks Parkway and Corkscrew Road in the overnight hours on Saturday.

Once inside, the suspects wandered throughout the store before one of them reached across the counter and punched the clerk in the face. Crime Stoppers says the clerk was knocked out as a result of the punch. The suspects then allegedly stole several packs of cigarettes before leaving the scene.

Surveillance footage shows the suspects leaving in a four-door sedan. Surveillance images show four individuals, it is not clear if the fourth is considered to be a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. Tips are kept anonymous, and any information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
