The Taekwondo season is underway and Cape Coral’s own Team BBT has continued their winning ways at the initial tournament of this new season.
On Saturday, the team traveled to Hudson, Florida to compete in the Nature Coast Sport Taekwondo Championship (formally known as the Suncoast Taekwondo Championship).
The event was held at the Veterans Memorial Park in Pasco County; a beautiful 49-acre venue north of Tampa.
Utilizing Daedo scoring hardware (pictured below), Team BBT members competed in Poomsae…an entrenched skills group of fighting techniques…as well as competing in Olympic Sparring.
As has become the norm, Team BBT returned home bearing seven first-place winners for sparring, two second-place winners and ten medals for Poomsae. Impressively, team members Charlize Joseph and Ashlee Rowzer additionally took first place in divisions outside their normal age and belt divisions.
Team BBT has since returned to Cape Coral to review the work performed in Hudson and to prepare for upcoming tournaments.
