FMPD Investigating First Street Attempted Sexual Assault

Lee Herald Favicon 16In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 25, a woman stopped her vehicle seeking directions.

Stopping at 3:30 a.m. near 2431 First Street in Fort Myers, just west of Fowler Street, the driver asked for the assistance of a nearby male. At first, the male appeared cooperative, however, he then attempted to sexually assault the female behind the First Street building.

As the assault began, the victim began to scream. A male passerby came to her aid. He witnessed the suspect flee to a nearby vehicle.

The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s. He stands approximately 5’7″ tall, has a medium build and has short, closely-shaven hair. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve shirt and dark-colored jeans.

The Fort Myers Police Department has provide both a sketch of the suspect and a brief video clip of his vehicle.
