A man was charged Wednesday for the 2017 homicide of a woman in Bonita Springs whose body was discovered during a house fire.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, on October 29, 2017 deputies responded to reports of a house fire at 26294 Squire Lane in Bonita Springs where they discovered the body of 35 year-old Sarah Nicholson. The medical examiner eventually ruled the death a homicide.
On Wednesday, detectives from the major crimes unit arrested Cristian Dilan, 20, for his alleged involvement with the homicide. Dilan has been charged with armed burglary of a dwelling, grand theft, grand theft of a motor vehicle, robbery, and accessory after the fact to second degree murder.
“Victims and their families deserve this type of effort and, regardless of the work required and the resources needed, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office will work relentlessly to ensure that justice is served and violent offenders are removed from the streets of Lee County,” said Undersheriff Carmine Marceno.
LCSO said that the investigation remains active and additional leads are being pursued.
