Dairy Queen is celebrating the first day of spring by handing out a free ice cream cone to customers who visit the restaurant chain on Tuesday, March 20.
A small vanilla cone will be given out to customers at non-mall locations on Tuesday, which is the Spring Equinox, while supplies last. There is a limit of one free cone per customer. The restaurant has more than 6,800 locations worldwide.
“Our cone with the curl on top is one of the most recognized treats in the world and that signature curl is a DQ quality test we take tremendous pride in,” said Maria Hokanson, Executive Vice President of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation.
Dairy Queen will also use the annual Free Cone Day to collect money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals a charity that, according to the Minnesota-based restaurant chain, raises funds and awareness for 170 hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to children across both the U.S. and Canada.
Last year, Dairy Queen says that it raised more than $300,000 during last year’s Free Cone Day.
