The man accused of killing one and wounding five in the 2015 Zombicon shooting has pled not guilty on Monday.
David Brener, the attorney for Jose Bonilla, entered a written not guilty plea, and had also asked for a discovery period and trial by jury, according to court records.
A hearing was scheduled for Monday afternoon to consider allowing Bonilla, 23, out on bond, but has been postponed for a later date.
Bonilla was arrested on Feb. 26 in connection to the shooting and has been held in the Lee County Jail since. He faces five counts of aggravated battery, one count of destroying evidence, and one count of second degree murder.
