Two victims received non-life threatening injuries during a drive by shooting Wednesday evening on Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers.
According to reports, Lee County deputies responded to a call at 8:22 p.m. about a vehicle that had been shot at. They discovered that a male and female victim had been wounded when their white Chevy Impala was struck by gunfire. The two injured victims were taken to the emergency room at HealthPark Medical Center.
In their statements made to law enforcement, the victims said that a vehicle of unknown make, model, and color pulled alongside them on Gladiolus Drive and began firing at their Impala.
A prosecution affidavit was signed by the female victim who suffered multiple wounds. The male victim, who was later transported to Lee Memorial Hospital, signed a complaint withdrawal.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said that, due to current evidence, they believe that the incident was not random in nature and that an investigation is still active and ongoing.
