Authorities are seeking answers about a burglary of a south Fort Myers restaurant which occurred over the weekend.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, two men broke into Burger Fi, located near Gulf Coast Town Center at the corner of Alico Road and Ben Hill Griffin Parkway on Sunday during the early morning hours.
Surveillance footage from inside the restaurant shows the two entering the building and passing through the kitchen area on the way to the back office. According to the release from Crime Stoppers, one of the suspects deactivated the businesses’ alarm system by using a valid code. Once inside, the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from a cabinet drawer.
The men are believed to have had inside information in order to access the building, Crime Stoppers says. Surveillance footage shows one of the suspects loitering outside the business near closing time. The robbery is alleged to have occurred sometime between 2:15 and 2:40 a.m.
Anyone with information related to the crime is asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS, online through their website southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or through the P3Tips mobile app. All tips are kept anonymous and information which leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
