Fort Rock announces 2018 lineup; Ozzy Osbourne headlines

Lee Herald Favicon 16

Typically one of the most anticipated concerts of the year in Southwest Florida, Fort Rock announced on Monday that Ozzy Osbourne will be among the headliners for their show in April.

One catch: it’s in Fort Lauderdale.

Osbourne, along with Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, Five Finger Death Punch, and Godsmack are among the top acts playing in the two-day concert which organizers announced last month is moving to Fort Lauderdale after spending its first five years at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers.

“Monster Energy Fort Rock is moving to its new home at Markham Park in Sunrise / Fort Lauderdale for its sixth year, as the site provides a larger space and room to grow, which will allow us to provide attendees with a bigger Fort Rock experience,” festival co-producer Danny Wimmer Presents’ vice president of marketing and sponsorship Clay Busch said in a press release on Monday revealing the acts for the festival. “We truly appreciate the support shown by Fort Rockers over the past five years, and encourage fans in the Fort Myers / Naples area to join us again in 2018 just across Alligator Alley.”

Fort Rock will run April 28 and 29. Presale tickets are available now, while general ticketing begins on Friday.

The Saturday lineup includes: Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, Halestorm, Bullet for my Valentine, Underoath, Trivium, Hatebreed, Texas Hippie Coalition, Power Trip, ’68, and Bad Wolves.

Sunday’s lineup, headlined by Osbourne, includes Breaking Benjamin, Stone Sour, Stone Temple Pilots, Killswitch Engage, Hollywood Undead, Sevendust, Pop Evil, Red Sun Rising, Avatar, Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown, and Toothgrinder.

General admission starts at $99.50 plus taxes and fees for weekend passes, or $75 for daily admission. VIP ticketing, which includes separate entrance lanes, bathrooms, food and drink areas, and a separate viewing area of the state, starts at $175 for a daily pass for $299 for the weekend.
