Authorities are still trying to figure out who left a bomb threat at Riverdale High School last week.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said they’re seeking information on an Oct. 23 bomb threat made in the girls’ bathroom at the school.
“Although the student who did this probably thought they were being funny, implying a bomb threat or other violence on campus is no joke,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator. “This student cost taxpayers money to evacuate the school and ascertain that there was no imminent danger, and there will be a consequence for that action.”
According to Crime Stoppers, the threat was noticed after school hours in the bathroom, written on a sink in black marker. Though school wasn’t in session at the time, the threat did force the evacuation of students and staff who were on campus for after school activities.
Anyone with information related to the threat is asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS, online at southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or through the P3Tips mobile app. All tips are kept anonymous and information that lead to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.
